“I Just Want To Be A Leader!” | Here are some of the qualities of a great leader.

“I JUST WANT TO BE A LEADER!”

Not everyone can be a leader or is even leadership material, are they.

Come on, I know everyone reading this can think of at least one person who may not measure up.

However, the fact is we really never know what is deep down in someones soul that just may be a part of the makeup of a leader.

I’m going to give you a short list of the many qualities that mark the signs of a leader, yes there are more, these are only the standards.

Here are some of the qualities of a great leader

Commitment

If you are to succeed as a leader, you must be more committed than anyone else.

Credibility

Live what you teach.  Keep your promises. Be Trustworthy.

Care

Everyone wants to know, “Does the leader care about me?”

Showing your love is as simple as spending time to build 1:1 relationships with them.

Clear Vision

People will follow you only if the know where you’re going.

People follow a leader who gives clear direction.

Confidence

People want to follow a leader who has confidence.

Character

Don’t be tempted to meet legitimate needs in illegitimate ways.

Character, is what you do in the dark or when no one is watching.

Courage

Leaders will always be tested.  You can count on obstacles in you path as you lead from where you are, to where you need to go.

Perseverance

Leaders work 24/7 by example.

Authority / Expert

A good leader will never guide you to do something they’ve never done themselves.

In order to gain influence, a great leader will already have these qualities within them.

They are natural instincts that make it by whom they are.

Bless these wonderful individuals for being so open & willing to lead the way & bring out potentials in others.

When you are looking for a great leader, be sure they have these qualities & they utilize them on a daily bases.

If you have found a great leader, you have found a respectful friend for life that you can always count on.

Thank you to all of you leaders out there for the selfless acts you share everyday!

  1. Awesome post Linda, so many great tips but I think what stood out the most with me was this “A great leader isn’t about the success of how much money you make, it’s about the difference you make in people’s lives.” Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Kristine. So many people have the wrong idea about success. The majority of those who are successful are actually very unhappy, sure they have the money, the toys & “things”. But unfortunately, the do NOT have happiness, because you cannot but happiness. Sad isn’t it, but it’s sooo true. Thank you Kristine for your input.

  2. I enjoyed reading your blog Linda. I love helping my team be successful in the business. It’s such a buzz to see them getting results.

Michelle, being so happy, buzzed & energized for someone elses accomplishments, is the sign of a true Leader. I see that in you Michelle & I’m sooo proud of you!

  3. Great tips Linda… My passion is helping others succeed, its such a great feeling – thanks

      Thanks Helen.

Helping others succeed is by being able to have them resonate with a “leader” who has already been through something successfully, that the person is just approaching, & being able to have the stability of Character & courage a leader must have, to help them. We’re all a work in progress.

  4. Goodness!!! All of those traits are so admirable. I think the one I resonate with most is “Courage!” When a leader is challenged … that’s when you find our their true “Character”

    EPIC post Linda!

You ALWAYS make me pause and ponder!

Thank you Erica. Having Courage will shine the light no brighter on someone, than when they are not walking the walk & only talking the talk. Being challenged will unveil who the Leader “really” is & demonstrate how they really got where they are with their actions. There are way too many “LEADERS” that get by just talking the talk & their followers are just emulating them. I am honor to say that you Erica are the “walk the walk” type of Leader that we need to see more of. Thank you for what you do!

    • Linda Frame

Exactly, spoken like a True Leader that you are Erica. Your Character will be tested & your Courage will be put to the test during your Leadership.. However, YOU have been such an eloquent Leader with ALL of the traits required. You Are The BEST! Thank you for all you Erica, you’ve got ALL it takes.

  5. What a list of traits! It is so true that many people will never become leaders and yet that doesn’t mean they don’t have it in them. We all do — its just a matter of tapping into some of these traits while learning and growing!

    • Linda Frame

Everyone was born with leadership in them, however laziness, doubt, influences & dishonesty has sent them off course. It’s never too late for one who is committed & determined to follow the path by obtained these qualities – “consistently”. Thank you Kristin.

    • Linda Frame

Bingo, you said it perfectly Kristin: “Learning & growing”, that’s exactly how to become a leader. No one is ready to step on stage or be in charge of 1 to 100 people, until they’ve “learned & grown” by observing a True Leader. Thank you Kristin for your sharp insight!

  6. HI Linda

The two I love the most from you post is caring and vision

When I have lead teams it has been a success when Im super clear and caring with very clear boundaries

    and Like Kristin said

    great list of personal traits

    Di

    • Linda Frame

Vision must be clear to enable you to keep focus. Caring must be from the heart otherwise it will come out in the end, it always does. Your boundaries, must be solid to keep you on track to your vision. You personal traits always come from how much comes from your heart to care. Thank you Di.

  7. It takes a certain amount of time to check these traits off a list when you meet an individual who could be a leader, but when you’ve confirmed they really are that leader you should ensure you always stay in contact with them. Great post Linda!

    • Linda Frame

In many cases, you can see those traits in an individual, however, they do not see them in themselves. They must be guided towards something that will bring the quality out of them so they too can finally see it. Thank you Shaun, always love your thoughts.
