“We Don’t Do It That Way!” | How to BURY a great Idea

“We Don’t Do It That Way!”

Do you sometimes feel like you’re banging your head against a wall??

I am so blessed to be surrounded by awesome, caring and giving people in my life now, in my online business,at home, my friends and family.

I hear so many outstanding stories to help, interesting conversations, and great ideas.

That, however, is NOT what I experienced in my past work life.

Wow, people can be a little, hmm, shall we say:  stubborn, when it comes to hearing someone elses new thoughts or ideas.

I personally love new ideas because it’s a new time to learn new things and challenge myself.

Today, I want to share a few thoughts here.

Maybe they sound familiar, but I actually heard these phrases daily at “work”.

No I don’t have a super memory, but when I realized I was hearing another one day after day.

I know, I don’t get out much, well that’s true now since my accident, or I would have most likely heard more.

So, here’s a few the resistant one’s I heard day after day after day…

How to bury a great idea

We can’t afford it.

It will never work.

We’ve never done it that way before.

We’re doing fine without it.

We’re not ready for it.

It’s not our responsibility.

But we’ve always done it the other way.

Now those are a few comments that won’t let in new ideas aren’t they.

The door,. wall or fence is up, closed and nothing’s coming in…….

Of course I’m sure you have a lot more, I did too, but I only wanted to share the ones I heard everyday.

I did have to resist writing the translation to each of these, but that’s not the point of my blog today.

Be flexible, open your mind and heart to new ideas before you respond to their thought.

Let your imagination see it, listen carefully to another persons thoughts and ideas.

Build your intellectual library in your mind, with new thoughts, new ideas.

Grow your mind, grow yourself and see what you can learn.

The beauty of everyone being unique, is that we all have different wonderful thoughts and ideas, so listen to them, share them.

Explore and listen, you may be surprised what you might learn today.
