How do You Develop Character?

Where does character come from?

Everyone has their own ‘character’, their own style, their own make up about them don’t they.  We are who we are, aren’t we.

The old saying; there’s no 2 people alike, would definitely fit here regarding someone’s character.

Well, in the physical body, yes we are who we are with what we were genetically born with, that’s true.

But, who are you really, what makes you, you?

Outside of our physical body, we are all very different.  How?

What makes us different from one another, is our character.

So what is character?

We know that character is; our morals, integrity, ethical structure, moral strength, attributes, overall our reputation.  It’s what makes us unique, how we’re recognized or remembered.

How do you develop character?

What does character look like?

First, look around you at the people you already know, close & distant.  What makes them different from another person, or from you, besides their clothes & hair.  How do they stand out differently from others or even you, again other than their physical looks?

Here is what people with character look like:

They tell the truth.

They don’t gossip.

They do what is right.

They walk with integrity.

They don’t mistreat people.

They side with those who are right.

They keep their word.

They don’t take advantage of people for financial gain.

They lend money to those in need without interest.

There are other qualities also, but these are the basic characters.

So, how do you look when you have character?  From deep inside, you carry yourself with all of the qualities listed above & subconsciously project them.  Its your posture, your words, your , your integrity, your morals & moral strength, attributes, & your consistent reputation.

That, is how you develop character.
