“I’ve Always Done Things This Way!” | How to develop a healthy Internal Growth

“I’VE ALWAYS DONE THINGS THIS WAY!”

Doing things the same way for so long is not a good practice, nor is it healthy.

It’s time for taking inventory within yourself.

You can’t keep faking your way through your days when you feel like that.

Now, why would I even suggest to take inventory of yourself

In order for you to be able to start the process of growing from learning new things, there is a lot of cleaning out you need to do within yourself.

Cleaning out the garbage from within yourself has to be done in order to grow internally, emotionally and physically.

All of the hurt, stress, anger, loss, challenges and despair you have been through, you first have to re-program your thoughts in your mind.

Then you have to learn NEW things in order to grow.

Impossible?

No not at all, but you have to be willing to learn NEW things, have an open mind & accept the fact that you do not know everything.

How?

Start thinking differently than what got you to the point you’re in now, the stagnant point where you do all the same things, the same way, over & over.

Why?

Simple, you are growing internally at all, you are just on “Auto-pilot!

Try some of these new things, for example.

How to develop a healthy internal growth

Develop a constant focus on the strengths of all that you come in contact with.

Commit to physical, mental and spiritual fitness daily.

Have a passion for excellence, for doing things right verses just getting by.

Ask, Listen, and Hear.

In order to determine the wants, needs and possibilities of those you come in contact with are, you have to ask, listen, and understand.

Provide a positive example of commitment and integrity with honesty.

Follow a path of continual investment in yourself and in others.

Lead others, as you would like to be led.

Savor each passing moment.

You’ve no doubt heard the phrase “stop and smell the roses”, this is the same thing, savor your moments.

Inject every thought and relationship you have with gratitude, love, hope and even faith.

*******

Be open to change & realize how healthy it is for you & your own mind.

Understand that being stagnant, will never allow yourself to grow & learn how things could be.

Remember, this is YOUR life & living is about learning & experiencing all you can.

*******

“Beautiful things happen, when you open your mind to new things”…….

Linda – great message. Too often, it’s easy to ‘plod’ along in life without even realising that we have hit a brick wall. Learning to recognise that we are ‘too comfortable’ is the first step to becoming the better person.

    • Linda Frame

Thank you Kim & you’re so right, it IS easy to just prod along in life. Comfort should only be enjoyed a short time: immediately after an accomplishment, then it’s onward to the next one! Thank you for sharing your thoughts Kim.

  2. Great Blog. I think sometimes we just accept things the way they are because it is easier that way. Thinking outside the box helps us grow to be a better person.

    • Linda Frame

Thank you Kathy, so true, thinking outside the box & moving forward is the only way to learn & grow. It’s not easy or comfortable but it’s very rewarding. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Yes Linda, how can we move forward if we do the same things over and over, to progress and grow we have to constantly improve which means getting out of our comfort zone and doing the things that leaders do.

    • Linda Frame

You know it well Angie, you’ve got to keep moving forward to new uncomfortable things in order to learn & grow. You’ve been doing this so well, thank you for sharing.

  4. Yes change takes courage and change takes work. But if the incentive for us to make these changes is great enough we’ll find both the courage and the energy.

    • Linda Frame

Oh Kerry you have hit the nail on the head, so true. If we’re motivated enough to make the changes we WILL find the energy & the courage to do so. Thank you Kerry for sharing..

Great Message, Linda. Right on point- Integrity, Gratitude.. growing and learning everyday. Not stagnating where we are at.

    • Linda Frame

Yes Kenna, who wants to stay stagnant & not grow. Find new things, be open to new ideas, learn new things, that’s what life is all about. Thank you Kenna, I love your thoughts.
