“I CAN’T BE HAPPY ALL THE TIME!”
Today, I would like you to look at things in a different way.
When you are already down, sad, frustrated, you have a tendency to look at everything else the same way – negatively.
It’s hard not to when it feels like everything around you is falling apart.
So, today I want you to do something & I know you may have to dig deep to cross that bridge, but do this anyway!
I want you to look at all that may be happening to you in an entirely different meaning.
For example, if you are feeling that everything is going wrong, I want you to think of a least one thing that is going right, & dwell on it.
That’s right, dwell on what is going right, even if it’s only one small thing.
It my just be a tiny thing, but if that one thing is going right, just dwell on it,
Now, I’m going to give you a few suggestions that is more of a variety to think from & from.
These thoughts may trigger something that better fits you & your own situation.

How to focus positively
If you DON’T have a positive focus, then dwell on:
What ever is true…
What ever is noble…
What ever is right…
What ever it pure…
What ever is beautiful…
What ever is admirable…
What ever is excellent…
What ever is praiseworthy…

Do you see what I’m doing here?
I am trying to get you to look at the other end of a negative thought & turn it around into a positive thought.
Now, dwell on that positive thought, focus on it & let that pull you through that hour or the day.
For some of you, you may find several positive thoughts to swell on.
However, for those of you who are really down, you may only find one positive thought.
That one thought is fine, it’s golden just hang on to it & swell on it.
That one positive thought may what pulls you through the day.
This is how I was able to start pulling myself back up, one day at a time with one positive thought at a time.
For a long time, I could only find one positive thing to dwell on per day & I accepted that was fine.
After time, I began to find another & another, then gradually I kept adding them up per day.
The key point here is this:
Whatever positive you find for that moment or day no matter how small it may be, you must believe in it 100%.
Without having 100% belief & commitment of that positive thought to move you, it will never work.
You MUST believe & commit yourself to this process, for it to work.
Make this process a habit & it will become an everyday thing.

“You become, what you believe”…

Kristine you’re so sweet, thank you for that. I appreciate you for your honesty.
Such great advice as always Linda. I remember in my darkest moments, ALL I could do to survive was focus on what was good in my life. We forget how many things we can be grateful for … like having arms to hold an inspiring book, legs to move us around, eyes to see beauty, touch to feel the softness of a loving fur baby … so many things we can be grateful for in the present moment.
Thank you Erica I always love your insights & thoughts. Growing up with one of my brothers having Polio was a perspective about life I learned from infancy on. I feel so blessed to just being here able to breath, I guess I wound up in the career field of service because I DO understand. Living in the present is exactly what we should all focus on. Wonderful thoughts Erica thank you.
