“I Don’t Have Enough Money For Christmas!” | Here are some ideas for the BEST things to give.

“I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY FOR CHRISTMAS!”

How many times have we heard this before.

Actually for some people, this is a very real issue when you’re trying to make ends & money is very tight.

Many people get laid off, fired or let go this time of year because some companies have no other reason than the “Fiscal Year End”.

Regardless what the reason, I’d like to share some thoughts with you I’ve share with so many patients through the years when an unexpected illness or injury, limited their income for the holiday season.

Some of these may fit the bill, but for others I hope something resonates with you.

Here are some ideas for the BEST things to give

To yourself:  respect.

To a friend:  your heart.

To your mother:  conduct that will make her proud.

To your child:  a good example.

To an opponent:  tolerance.

To your enemy:  forgiveness.

To mankind:  charity.

This holiday-Christmas, or anytime, giving is not about presents.

It is about giving the most precious gift of all:  you.

Sharing from your heart is the most eloquent gift you can ever give anyone.

Do not let the holidays stress you out about money, because what you have within you, is priceless.

  1. Totally Agree!! Christmas has been far too commercialized these days. It’s not about the amount you spend on a gift, it’s the heart that’s in the gift you give that counts. <3 <3

You are exactly right Shaun. Money & the extreme gift is foolish, especially since that’s want Christmas is NOT about. Thank you Shaun, I appreciate your insights & stories.

  2. beautiful Linda! The best gifts are the ones you have mentioned right here. Thank you.

Thank you Nancy, I agree & I’m pleased you agree as well. Let’s stay away from the costs & commercialized part of Christmas & get back the real from the heart meanings of the Holidays.

Totally agree!!! I’ve always found it odd that we, as adults are buying other adults things that they could just purchase on their own! Even if we don’t have everything that we want, we have everything that we need. On my father’s side, we don’t do gifts, we just donate the money that would have been used for gifts towards a cause that we care about. On my mother’s side, they still do gifts and are still getting used to my request to not get us any. It’s a hard habit to break! Sometimes, I make gifts for people. Moisturizers, facials scrubs and so on. I get to be creative and it’s so cheap. All in all, in the end it is just so much more important to see family than it is to get “stuff.”

    Great blog, Linda!

Christmas rituals are sooo stressful; gift a gift, give money, etc!!!!! Homemade gifts are the best because they come from the heart & hands of someone who made it. That is so special. I know I said in the post, but man, what is wrong with everyone, right?! People go into debt & overdraft just to give gifts, that’s not what life is about. Thank you Heather, I enjoy your thoughts.
