“I Just Hate Who I Am!” | How to have more appreciation for yourself.

“I JUST HATE WHO I AM!”

It’s true, there are many people who are not very happy themselves.

It may be their job, their hair, their clothes, the car they drive….

But if you’re not happy about you or who you are, then you have some work to do.

First, let’s get this out of the way up front, you are who you are for one reason, you have life!

Now, if you don’t like how you look, you can adjust the clothes, the hair, & even the attitude.

But, the being of who / what you are; the skin, feet, hands, eyes, & ears, are all what you were blessed with.

So, if you are still having issues with yourself, I’m going to leave you with a few thoughts, called acceptance.

************

How to have more appreciation of yourself

Specifically,  SELF ACCEPTANCE:

You should never confuse your mistakes, with your value as a human being.

Always remember, you’re a perfectly valuable, creative, worthwhile person simply because you exist.

Have patience with all things, but first with yourself.

Finally, never forget that healthy self-acceptance is the core of a peaceful mind.

***********

Be proud of who you are.

Be thankful for life.

Don’t waste your existence by waiting for things to happen for you.

It’s up to you to make things happen

So start today, start now.

Never wait for tomorrow to do something, because tomorrow may never come…

  1. I especially love the tip of

    Never confuse ourselves with mistakes.

How many times do we beat up ourselves because we were just given a lesson

As usual Linda….. refreshing clear easy flowing post

    Love you for that

    Di

    • Thank you Di. I can’t tell you how many times I learned valuable lessons about the mistakes I made! Whew… there were many. But as I said in the post, that day my day told me I l”learn from my mistakes”, made such a huge impression on me.

Thank you for you sweet word, I appreciate that. To me: Clear & flowing means easy understanding!

Thank you Di, WE are not our mistakes! That was a very important thing for me to learn a long time ago. Once I finally “got it”, so many others things made sense & still do. I appreciate your insight Di & thank you for your visit.

  2. I remember back in my 20’s that I didn’t love myself very much at all. In fact, I would go so far as to say I loathed myself, and I loathed being in my own skin. I was very overweight, not looking after myself at all … thinking “Oh woe is me!”

And I’ll never forget the day all of that changed.

I decided to enroll in a personal development workshop that went over a weekend.

And I’ll never forget this … a beautiful, tall, slim blonde woman walked into the room and I looked at her aghast!!!!

What problems could SHE have??? She’s Perfect!!!!

Well, over the course of the weekend I realized i didn’t have any problems at all … but she certainly had some monster ones that I wouldn’t have traded mine for ever.

That was the day I decided to start loving myself …

… and it’s one of the most magical relationships I’ve ever developed.

Thank you for you loving posts Linda!

    They are greatly appreciated!

    • Wow Erica, who’d of thought you once loathed yourself. We all have the terrible “habit” of not liking ourselves: we look ugly, we’re fat, we’re not driving the best car….. What a waste of valuable time in our life.

We all have the choice to make something of ourselves, to be who we want to be… You did that & you did it VERY well. Look at you now compared to that first day of the Personal Development class. Now you teach others how to live their dreams. EPIC story! I love it.

    Hi Linda
I went through this also during College… I used to compare my self with others, Thinking they were prettier or had a better figure and or clothes. But I am now happy who I am, and happy with the life I am living… thank you for sharing.

I’m so glad to hear you ARE happy with who you are & the life you are living. You are beautiful inside & out, admire by so many & have talents to share. Thank you for your insight Debbie, I appreciate it.

Linda – as we are told that we can create the things we want in our lives, if we only believe, same goes for ourselves. But we have to get passed the self doubt and limiting beliefs. I was always a very shy person – would never say ‘boo to a goose’! But as I got older I realised that wasn’t going to get me anywhere….. I’m still a little on the reserved side, but if I want something in my life I know it’s up to ME to go out there and make it happen!! Great post, thank you!

Your wisdom is incredible Kim. You have learned to believe in yourself & it has taken you to remarkable heights. Keep it going, you wear it well. Thank you Kim, I appreciate you.
