We all want to be a good friend, don’t we.
We’d like to be looked up to & respected.
We’d even like to be needed & thought about.
Of course we do!
But, do you really know how you rank as a friend to someone else??
For many, you may not be the kind of friend you think you are.
**************************************************************
“Here’s what a GOOD friend does consistently”
Praise one another’s strengths.
Grant space if the other needs it.
Demonstrates trustworthiness.
Look forward to spending time together.
Show concern for each others’ happiness.
Pray regularly for their friends & families.
Celebrate their joys & cry with their sorrows.
Share their hearts, honestly & sensitivity.
Know one another’s weaknesses & don’t point them out.
Believe the best in each other.
**************************************************************
If you’re going to accept someone’s friendship, do it only if you’ll make a commitment to be a GOOD friend.
If you can’t commit to be the qualities of a person listed above, then don’t do it.
Don’t take advantage of someone if you can’t be a truly good person to them.
After all, being a good friend is a commitment to being the best you can be, always.
