“My Kids Are So Out of Control!” | How you can regain cooperation from your children.

“MY KIDS ARE SO OUT OF CONTROL!”

Does this sound familiar to you or someone you know?

It should, because it does seem that children are out of control today, doesn’t it.

The ONLY one who has the right to control you kids or grandchildren is YOU.

Where does it come from?

Simply, from lack of respect & communication, on both sides.

So, instead of dwelling on what we know, let’s talk about some ideas to help this issue.

I’ve complied a few thoughts for families.  These may not work on all, but they are worth a try to start things in motion.

Relationship, friendship, fighting, arguing, compromise, understanding

HOW TO REGAIN COOPERATION FROM YOUR CHILDREN

*This 1st starts with communication between you, that you’ll work together on these*

Family Commitments

If I make a mess, I’ll clean it up.

I will treat others with respect.

I’ll pick up my clothes & keep my room neat.

I will not use bad language.

I will not lie.

I will not keep secrets.

I will not hit others.

I’ll talk to Mom, Dad or Grandparents, about my problems.

I’ll do my chores & homework, before I go out to play.

I will not use drugs, & if I know somebody who is using drugs, I’ll find them help at home.

I will turn off my phone during all mealtimes.

These types of commitments vary depending on your particular situation, but they do work.

The key is to sit with your children & talk about them.

These are called “teachable” moments for them.  It’s you opportunity to work together on these issues & made an agreement to do these faithfully, together.

You see, the qualities listed above, are not to just “get control” of your child, these are qualities for your children to carry on with them throughout their life.

  1. Such great Advice Linda and something each and every parent can do. “Communicate”
The world seems to have gone crazy, but we forget that we have charge of what happens in our own home.. Thanks

Oh Rhonda, you are soo right. Communicate, be the daily example & yes, the parent has total control of what happens in their house. So use & practice that control behind close doors, so these young people come out into public taught the difference between right & wrong! Thank you Rhonda for sharing your thoughts.
