This is It, This is Your Future

THIS IS IT, THIS IS YOUR FUTURE.

So, what are you going to do about it?

No it’s not complicated, it shouldn’t be procrastinated, you don’t have to spend 60 years exhausting yourself so badly, that you’ll never enjoy it.

If you are working night & day now, to get to where you want to go when you retire, WHOA, slow down a moment.

Of course we all need to plan, save, develop & organize our lives.

However, what we’re taught to plan for 50, 60, & 70 years later, is rather ambitious don’t you think.

Sure it is, especially when we don’t know whats going to happen 10 years from now, let alone a lifetime away.

Here are some thoughts to think about, when you’re thinking about your future.

Open your mind & just let these thoughts sink in.  It’s very simple.

THIS IS IT, THIS IS YOUR FUTURE.

Who you will be in the next 5 years depends on 3 things:

The people you meet.

The books you read.

The choices you make.

Reaching beyond 5 years at a time, is not allowing yourself build good positive habits that will become automatic reflexes to you.

We are ‘creatures of influence’,  the types of people we’ve met & develop relationships with, the types of activities we do, the books we read & of course, consequently, the choices we make.

Our minds are taking in all this influence & developing us along the way.

Giving ourselves 5 years at a time, instead of multiple decades, allows us to adjust to the changes in the world & things around us.

Choose today, to live a transformed life!!

5 years in advance … I like that! People … books … choices … so true!

People seem to have planning ideas way too far in advance. 5 years is the absolute most I would ever recommend, & that’s a stretch. Thank you Erica for your thoughts.

I love that criteria as Erica pointed out

people

Oh yes they both do Di, I’m glad you said that because it’s very true. We are creatures of influence to & of others. Thank you Di for your insights.

This post is right on and a much needed reminder. Our future is truly right now — what we do now impacts our tomorrows! Thank you for this.

You are SOOOO right Kristin. People are all living in tomorrow & not today. Every moment counts for now, there may not be a tomorrow. Thank you for your thoughts.

Great advice Linda. A lot can happen in 5 years and yes what we do today totally impacts tomorrow and the next years. I don’t thik I ever did the multiple decades planning thing, but then I have lived a pretty unconventional life.

Thank you Sue, stretching to 5 years is still a little uncomfortable for me to even recommend. But I sure wouldn’t go beyond that because a lot can happen even in a year. Look at my example of the accident last year. Where I am at this moment was never thought of or considered. One split second changed everything.

Thank you Di, you are so perceptive. Unrealistic long term planning is setting yourself up for disappointment.
