Are You Stressed Out?

by Linda Frame, RN-Medical Content Writer Freelance on March 13, 2015

HELLO everyone, thank you for visiting my blog today.  My name is Linda Frame and I am here everyday with:    DAILY ADVERSITY SUPPORT

Authors Note: For my background information, please visit my Profiles on Facebook and Linkedin.

I’m here to talk about the challenges, the hurdles, those ‘nothing goes right days and the set backs that jump in your way unexpectedly.  You may even feel like that ‘black cloud’ hanging over your head seems to have your name on it.  If a particular topic of the day here doesn’t suit you or doesn’t speak to you, that’s fine, maybe tomorrows topic will seem more interesting to your issues in your life.  Why, because I have been through a lifetime of rock bottom challenges, and I want to share how you can crawl back up successfully.

Honestly, do you feel like you’re tied up and can’t move, can’t breath, feel like the rope is getting closer to your neck, you’re smothered? Do you feel like you can’t get the ropes untied and off of you? You’re tied up and stuck with this massive rope but don’t have a clue where it came from?

Many times, when we start falling over the hurdles, can’t deal with the challenges, and feel so overwhelmed, it may simply be something other than feeling like you’re at rock bottom.  Even loss, grief, financial loss, relationship loss, or job loss, can continue to pull you down further and further everyday.   All of these issues build within you and eventually you have to determine what’s causing this downward spiral you’re in.

So many of the feelings you may have, as described above, could also be stress.  Yes, stress can have parallel feelings of ‘doom and gloom’ and ‘the end of the world is here’, feelings.

I am going to share with you a few DANGER SIGNS OF STRESS and I want you to see if any of these fit your situation.

Here’s the short list I have, look through these everyday things.

You may be under too much stress if you:

..don’t laugh as much as you use too.

..talk more negatively than usual.

..become forgetful and absentminded.

..find yourself irritable or impatient with things you normally tolerate.

..get distracted easily and have trouble concentrating.

..have difficulty getting to sleep and feel exhausted when you wake up.

..suffer from frequent headaches or stomach pains / nausea.

..sense you are just one step away from falling apart.

..use alcohol, non-prescription drugs, or food, to help you relax.

..postpone what is really important, to accomplish what is not important – priority changing.

..cancel a get together with your favorite friends with a lame excuse, then just sit by yourself at home.

If any of these sound like you, whether it’s just one, several, or the whole list, you are in over your head and your mind and body are already reacting.  You have to seriously act on these signs and honestly look inside yourself to find out what is causing your stress.

The signs I have listed above are NOT normal and you are the only one who can resolve the issue.  I would advise you to ask a trusted friend, spouse or someone you have an unconditional relationship and good communication with, to work with you to help you spot and resolve this.  An objective outside of your own mind observer is generally better than working alone.  But, the key here is to find what your stress is and resolve it ASAP.

If it’s a relationship and you can’t work it out, then get out and walk away.  If it’s a long recovery, make your rehabilitation / therapy your daily chore to get stronger faster.

If it’s your job and / or money; if the job issues are not salvageable find another job with less stress, if it’s money stress, construct a budget to get yourself on track.  If it’s both money and job, combined with the need to change careers but can’t find anything that fits, email me for an opportunity that will change your life and bring you the money you’ve always wanted (my email is at the bottom).  Whether you’re a college degree professional, or you have only a high school diploma but are a hard worker, you DO NOT have to go through your life so stressed, especially from a job.  Contact me for more details on some awesome lucrative opportunities.

I assure you these signs of stress will NOT go away on their own and you will only get worse and worse.  So, this must be your priority for you to resolve and when you do, your life will feel so much lighter, happier and stress free.  Find a way to get rid of your stress before your stress changes your life.

“Busy is a choice, Stress is a choice, Joy is a choice”…..

 See you tomorrow

Great points, Linda, and some of this happens when men and women face a change in life…stress and hormonal changes can bring about these feelings, too.
Thank you for sharing this info. XoX, Zen

Thanks Zen, your field too has made these areas so clear. For anyone else reading this, any changes from ones “normal” routine throws your hormonal & cardiovascular systems in a tail spin, & not in a good way. Your hormones are out of control, your circulatory /cardiovascular blood vessels constrict, blood pressures go up, muscle tissues are deprived of blood & oxygen, etc, etc, etc,. In other words, all body parts including your brain (which also needs the blood & oxygen to function), are all affected by stress. Short of giving an anatomy & physiology class, just believe me when I say “stress is not good for your body at all”!

Thanks Zen.

Gosh this post is a wake up call! I had most of those stressful signs and had no idea I was stressed. I thought I had a great life and a great career … turns out all I had was a lot of stress! So yes, if you’re reading this post and you can identify with any of these signs … please reach out to someone and find ways to change. The body can only take so much! Love your posts Linda … thank you!

Erica, you are spot on! The can only take so much and eventually the body breaks down from all the stress, both physical & mentally, and you will not be the same again. Folks, stress if not controlled, will lead to so many physical illnesses within your body. Your window for getting it under control is small, so if you realize it, then do something about it before your body starts breaking down. The human body is an incredible machine & capable o so much we put it through, but continued stress will shorten it’s life span.
There are so so so many things you can do to minimize your own stress, but you first need to ‘listen to your body’. I only listed a few in the post, but if you even identify with one, resolve it.

Erica, I’ve mentioned this to you before, your passions, drive and caring support for everyone is a gift which makes you very special. Just be sure you are listening to your own ‘inner self’ for any physical & emotional signs of stress. If you have most of those signs already, it just show how stress is a silent threat. And YES, this is the nurse talking! Thanks for visiting.
