Are You Doing Too Much?

by Linda Frame, RN-Medical Content Writer Freelance on March 24, 2015

HELLO everyone, thank you for visiting my blog today.  My name is Linda Frame and I am here everyday with:    DAILY ADVERSITY SUPPORT

Authors Note: For my background information, please visit my Profiles on Facebook and Linkedin.

I’m here to talk about the challenges, the hurdles, those ‘nothing goes right days and the set backs that jump in your way unexpectedly.  You may even feel like that ‘black cloud’ hanging over your head seems to have your name on it.  If a particular topic of the day here doesn’t suit you or doesn’t speak to you, that’s fine, maybe tomorrows topic will seem more interesting to your issues in your life.  Why, because I have been through a lifetime of rock bottom challenges, and I want to share how you can crawl back up successfully.

Whether you are working full time, part time, volunteering or not working at all, you all need to ask yourself this question:  “Are you doing too much”?

Look over these thoughts that I’ve had to think about myself many times, and honestly ask yourself where do you fit.  Do any of these thoughts apply to you?  You’re the only one who can ask and answer the questions, so take a look, to see if your lifestyle needs some adjusting or simplifying.

Do you feel that reading or relaxing is just a waste of time?

Does your family have trouble finding time to spend together with you?

Have you ever missed an important event in your child’s or spouses life because of a conflicting obligation that you volunteered for?

Are the storage spaces in your home overflowing because you don’t have time to clean out what’s been outgrown, broken, or used up?

Do you spend most of your day feeling tired?

Are you afraid to say “no” to an opportunity, fearing it will never come again?

Do you give your children material items to make up for denying them your time and energy?

Do you often find you’ve overscheduled yourself, underestimating the time needed for each event?

Do you spend the entire day on your devices, only to find the day has gone by while you were on your computer, phone or other device, scanning through and answering notes?

So if any of these identify you, maybe you need to start scheduling your time better before you find your entire life is gone.

“Busy is a choice, stress is a choice, joy is a choice”………..

See you tomorrow

Gosh that last one always rings true with me … I really do need to schedule my time better. Sometimes I can be really regimented … and then other times I just let time flow. I know however that the most successful people in business are very good time managers …. so YES … this is an area that I definitely need to work on. Thank you for your daily reminders Linda! Love your posts!

Thank you Erica. I believe we all could do better on our time scheduling & ultimately find less stress for ourselves. You are so passionate, driven & want so much success for everyone else too, that triples your load everyday. But, I know you will listen to your inner self to know when & where to cut back without feeling as though you’re cutting out.

Yes, Linda, you nailed it, it is all a choice and you simply have to check in with yourself to see if you’re in ‘feels good’ or ‘doesn’t feel so good’ (or even ‘feels bad’ but hope people don’t take it that far) so we can alter our daily course accordingly, great post, thank you for so much value stated so succinctly! Thank you Zen. That’s the component most forget about, “checking in with yourself”. If we all did that faithfully, less miscommunication & less bad decisions would be made – daily. Thanks for stopping by.
