Do You Have HOPE?

Do you have HOPE?

Of course you always have hope:  I hope it doesn’t rain.  I hope we eat pretty soon, I’m hungry.  I hope my hair looks good.

That’s not what I had in mind today.

Hope is merely something we wish for or expectations, isn’t it.  Or, are you just looking for 4-leaf clovers?

Many people live their days by hoping for something or another.  What happens if you don’t get what you wish for?  Are you just gambling, throwing the dice to see if it’s your lucky day, like a 4-leaf clover?

Today, I have a simple message regarding HOPE.

Hope  opens doors, where despair closes them.

Hope  looks for the good in people, instead of harping on the worst in them.

Hope  discovers what can be done, instead of grumbling about what cannot be done.

Hope   lights a candle, instead of cursing the darkness.

Hope  draws its power from a deep trust in God & the basic goodness of mankind.

Hope  regards problems, small or large, as opportunities.

Hope  cherishes no illusions, not does it give away to skepticism.

Have a different perspective on things & don’t just go through life hoping for things to happen your way.

Embrace the opportunities that come your way instead of using your hopes to brings you things that are not meant to happen.

Hope is the positive belief you have within yourself, that the best will happen for you no matter what.

“When you stop chasing the wrong things you are hoping for, you give the right things a chance to catch you”……..

I do say “hope” a lot. Thank you for the redirect and helping me to refocus on what hope really is. Beautiful post!

Kristin, I think we all use the word HOPE, almost as much as the UM… Thanks for your thoughts.

Always love your blogs Linda .. I correct myself when I say ‘hope’ its either ‘going to happen’ or it isn’t ‘things WILL work out 🙂
