Every good thing, takes time …

Do you understand how powerful this quote is? Do you realize how many different aspects of life’s actions this entails?

Doing something nice for someone takes an unselfish act from someone to do for someone else, voluntarily without expecting anything in return. Most of the time, the person receiving the kind gesture, accepts it but doesn’t realize until some time later how much it actually meant to them.

So we have: voluntary, selfless, kindness, giving, action/gesture, delayed understanding, immediate comfort, apprehension, receiving, time past, meaning, comprehension. That is a lot of things done within a 5 words act that could have taken only one second..

Something so small does mean so much to people, so why don’t we do this more often? Oh yes, you’re too busy I remember. But look at how quick that 5 word action took, it could have been as simple as: a smile at someone, opening a door for someone, a wave across the street or room, saying ‘hi’ to someone, saying ‘you look nice’, paying it forward for someone.

Do you understand how quick these super warm heartfelt gestures are? These can cost you a second of your time, a second …

If you are not taking one second of your time to offer something so simple to someone else … you should start now.

Every good thing, takes time … linda frame
