Make Your Heart, Smile …

Being able to have ‘your heart smile’ has to come from something, or someone very special. I have actually found many people who have never experienced this, or at least they weren’t aware of what it was. This is the simplest gift you can ever give yourself.

When something or someone makes your heart smile, you have a sudden physical reaction of peace, warmth, feeling loved or cared for, joy, complete trust and there is no weight on your shoulders. This feeling is like none other. And to be sure you understand what I’m talking about, in this example, I am not referring to feeling ‘in love’ with someone. I am only referring to a feeling of complete joy.

How does that feeling happen? You must be in the moment and aware of how you are feeling physically inside when something occurs or someone makes you feel the feelings I mention above.

This is something you can do for yourself or with someone you trust, respect and admire. To do this you need to do something that makes you feel completely relaxed, at ease, be only in the moment without worries, and you must be open minded. Most importantly, you need to be willing and able to get away from the tense issues going on around you.

There are a number of things you can do and I have spoke about a number of these things in my book: Shattered … but the point is to find something that will make you slow down, be in the moment and get yourself away from distractions:

  • Bicycle Rides.
  • Scenic Train Rides, there are Mountain rides through the Wine Country.
  • Boat Rides, your own boats or Tours & take your dog, they’ll love it.
  • Go to a park or a Book Store, find a comfy spot and read a book.
  • Go visit a Vinyard, Apple Orchard, Cattle or Horse Farm, Museums.
  • Walk along or around a lake, take your dog with you.
  • Go fishing with a friend you trust.
  • Start planning out your garden of flowers, plants or vegetables.
  • Pull out your old hobbies and start working on them again.
  • Go Horseback riding.
  • Go cross country motorcycle riding.
  • Go snow skiing or snow boarding.
  • Go golfing, bowling, play pickup basketball or to a game/tournament.

This list is really endless and it all depends on you open your mind to something that you totally enjoy. The purpose of this is to help you stop dwelling on the current issues you have. Give yourself moments and times where you can just be guilt free, in the moment and let your heart smile.

You will be amazed at how this feeling is so exhilarating, motivating and how much joy this gives you. Most of these things cost you nothing but the time you need for you and if you don’t start taking care of you, it’s going to be very hard for you to be physically and mentally able to find ways to resolve your issues.
