Why Didn’t Anybody Tell Me This Before! | What you didn’t hear, when you were told about the basics of life.

WHY DID ANYBODY TELL ME THIS BEFORE!

(Here’s what you missed, when you weren’t listening)

As we grow up, we are told many things, we learn a lot, we are a sponge with absorbing information.

However, it’s interesting how easily so many people never seem to “hear” the part about life within us.

We can understand a well put explanation about how to operate a basic computer, driving a car, following a recipe (well some of us).

Many of us are very skilled with more complicated technical things like; motors, machines, technical computers, instruments, music, dance…

Those sort of things to learn are for those who are driven to learn them, they are understood & they ‘get it’.

So what happened to listening & understanding about how we ‘handle’ life from within ourselves.

So, what am I talking about?  Keep reading, I’m sure you’ll recognize this.

WHAT YOU DIDN’T “HEAR” WHEN YOU WERE TOLD ABOUT THE BASICS OF LIFE

(Here’s what we do not understand)

Peace… until faced with conflict.

Trust… until we are betrayed.

Love… until it is lost.

Hope… until confronted with doubts.

Faith… until it is tested.

Joy… until we face sorrow.

These are some of the very basic personal development thoughts.

However, it should not have to take a devastating incident to learn of these or how to use them, for what seemingly appears, for the first time.

These are daily staples everyone should make a point of having within themselves, these are your “go to” thoughts & beliefs, to hold you up & together.

They require daily practice, understanding & exercise, by you.

Be sure you carry these understandings & use them properly as you need the, everyday.

“Channel your personal energy, to things you can influence & control”….

See you tomorrow…

Thanks Linda some brilliant advice.
I wish that they would teach the BASICS OF LIFE in schools. I wish it were made a more important topic. Life skills are so necessary to survive in this world because without them many people find themselves drowning..We need more people teaching life skills the basics of human emotions… just basic skills to keep afloat.. Thanks Linda loved this.

Oh Rhonda, I’m right there with you about having these as part of the school programs. Life skills & human emotions training are they key to survival in the world. Thank you Rhonda for sharing this very important analogy.

Oh wow LInda so true I sure never heard any of these basics. We learn the physical how toos but not the emotional ones we need. I think I learned the opposite of joy as my mother repeatedly said how hard life was. The ironic part that is her name is Joy. Awesome post Linda and sadly too true,

Yes Sue, the things we know now about ‘Mindset” are mind blowing aren’t they. The fact is though, most people don’t even know what we know about mindset skills & emotions. It’s so sad your mother didn’t live up to her name presence, how differently she may have looked at life. It’s amazing how incredibly kind you turned out! Thank you for sharing Sue.

Great post Linda and I was told work hard earn a living. What i got from that core basic message was work hard, think hard, do hard stuff.

I now know that is not what the basic message is for my self satisfaction and love for living.

Looking and working from within gives me so more more ease and joy and insight to my everyday life.

Di, listening to you, you are in such a wonderful place now. You did it the hard way yes, but you did it well & you’ve been able to pull in what’s really important now. Well done & thank you for sharing this.

I often say this…mostly to myself….and more and more as I get older of all things! You would think that age brings wisdom – and it does – but there are some things that happen in life that no matter how old or young a person is it is still a blow….and my heart gets more vulnerable with age because I HAVE seen so much and see how so many waste time on things that don’t matter. Thanks for your post Linda.

Nancy, you are very right in your analogy. Words of the wise & thank you for sharing these! The only way one can get wiser as they age, is to be open to new information & experiences. With this, you’ll just never learn, grow or evolve. It’s so hard to “get this” regardless of your age, but life would be different for all, if only they were aware of it at a very young age. Thank you Nancy.
