Avoiding a Problem, is Not a Solution …

This seems to be a habit of so many people in the world. In fact, there are dozens of the people you know or near by you that are doing this right now. Maybe in fact, you are one of those who have or are now doing this …

Why in the world do we do this, why stuff a problem in the back of our mind, avoid it and think okay now I can think about something else.

The answer to that question is not an easy one, but avoiding the problem seems to a method which is used by so many people on earth. The most frequent excuse may sound a bit familiar: I don’t have time right now to deal with this, I don’t know how to take care of this, this can’t be happening right, I can’t take any more …

Well, there is no rubbing a Magic Genie Lamp method that is going to help you make this disappear and it isn’t going to make all your problems go away either, nice try though.

So now what, here the weight of the issue continues and in all fairness to everyone, in order to resolve most problems, a clearer head is necessary. What do you do, how can you get rid of this weight you now have on your shoulders? How do you stop this nightmare from continuing?

Here are a few thoughts to actually think about and I know some will save ‘I have a method’, but that usually means avoiding the problem all together.

First, you need to get yourself away from distractions so you can think straight. Go do something nice for yourself and no you don’t have to spend money to do that, just something to get yourself away for a bit so you can breathe. The purpose is so you can think about all the good things you have right now; your husband/wife/partner, friends, your children, fur babies, home, car, food, utilites, you have life, you are breathing right now and even a little money in your pocket. Just remember the all of the good things you have going for you right now.

Focus only on the good things. Many people do better taking a large piece of paper, divide it vertically in half; left side only the good positive things, the left side empty for now.

Now on the left side write down line by line all of the good in your life. When you are finished with the left side of good positive things you are blessed to have in your life, just look at it and breathe …

When you are ready on the left side, write down your problem(s) that you have been avoiding, just the one(s) that have you tied up in knots right now. Now, look again on the left side of the good things in your life …

Seeing what you have that is good should be far more than the problem(s) you have at this moment. Those listed on the left side, the blessings that you have should far out weight the right – problem side.

When you look at that page long enough, you should realize all of the good you have accomplished in life. All of those little things that added up to being quite a long list of blessings you have right now.

In comparison, on the right that problem is far out numbered and should be easily resolved, not because it isn’t a big deal happening right now, but because you have come so far. You have accomplished so much, you have handled so many daily issues without thinking twice about them.

So this ‘problem’ is just another challenge for you to handle just like you did all the other ones on the left side of the page. Some of those ‘good’ things you have listed weren’t always easy for you but you handled it, resolved it and made it into a blessing in your life. You learned from those issues and you found solutions for them.

When your heart is full of the warmth of good, your issue or ‘problem’ is just another learning experience for you. Yes you will learn from it and if it happens again, you will be experienced in that too.

It is hard, but don’t waste the good things in your life when an obstacle comes across your path. Train yourself to realize that although you may not know how to handle this particular issue and it may even seem like ‘the end of the world’, like everything else that you have found a solution for, this one too you can resolve it and learn from.
