You’re Never Too Old, to Start Something New …

Honestly, how many of you have heard the statement: “oh, I’m too old to do that …” Actually, how many of you have said that yourselves?

Age is a number, it is not what you feel in your heart and many don’t remember their age until they look in the mirror and suddenly become their own critic!

Frankly you are never too old to start anything. There is nothing more exhilarating than working on your passion, something that you absolutely love and it comes from your heart.

Still aren’t sold yet, well how about this. Here is a list of a few names you may recognize that didn’t start until they were it their later years:

Starting Later in Life

  • Colonel Sanders didn’t start Kentucky Fried Chicken until he age 60.
  • Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote her 1st book at 65, then wrote the Little House on the Prairie series at age 76.
  • Ray Kroc started McDonalds at age 59.
  • Grandma Moses didn’t start painting until age 76.
  • Julia Child pubulished her first book in her 50’s.
  • Louise Hay wrote her first book at 59 & the started her own Publishing Company-Hay House at age 61. She was still writing in her 90’s.

This is an interesting list that goes on endlessly. But the message here is very simple. You do not have to be famous to live your passion, your dreams, or your desires.

Grandma Moses (yes she was a real person) waited until she was 76 years old to start painting and by that time her arthritis had begun crippling her hands and fingers. She was never trained in art, she just love the way paintings made her feel, so she was determined to take that love she had and put it on canvas starting at age 76. She was still painting in her 90’s.

Don’t give up on your passions or anything that brings you joy, you are never too old. After all, it’s your life, so do what you feel in your heart.
